Louise has been an associate attorney with de Beer & Associates since August 2004. After her graduation from William Mitchell College of Law in 2004, she has focused her practice in the area of Family law. Louise has always been particularly interested in the area of wills and estate planning cases, and now also enjoys helping clients plan for their families’ future needs. Many clients visit with Louise after completion of their family law case to make sure their important papers are in order, such as wills, powers of attorney, trusts, or health care directives.
Before becoming an attorney, Louise was employed in social services. Her position was a great use of her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Morris, that she received in 1998. Louise is a regular volunteer through the Volunteer Lawyers Network.
Louise is an outdoor enthusiast regardless of the season, whether blistering hot or blizzarding cold. Some of her more adventurous past positions include a former canoe guide on the Gunflint Trail, a former ranch hand in Wyoming, and the head chef for the same Ranch out west.
She recently married her fellow guide and backpacker, Joel, in 2005. She is now the proud parent of a golden Labrador puppy. Louise divides her spare time between the city and the wilderness. If she’s not in the office, she’s probably gardening, biking, canoeing, backpacking, creating pottery, snowshoeing, skiing or scuba diving.
