Melisa K. Field

Melisa K. Field joined de Beer & Associates, P.A. as a family law associate in 2008.  Melisa received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities in 2005 and her Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in 2008. Prior to joining de Beer & Associates, Melisa worked for the Ramsey County Attorney's Office in the Child Support Enforcement section. While with Ramsey County, Melisa gained extensive knowledge about the application and enforcement of Minnesota's child support laws.

Melisa prior legal experience also includes volunteering for the Washington County Public Defender's Office; interning with the Isanti County Attorney's Office; and clerking for the Honorable William Stewart, Dunn County Circuit Court Judge in Wisconsin. These opportunities provided Melisa with substantial litigation and courtroom experience.  While Melisa feels at home in the courtroom, she strives to avoid litigation by reaching practical and individualized solutions for her clients and their families.

Melisa performed a significant amount of volunteer work while in law school and was awarded the Minnesota Justice Foundation Achievement in Public Service Award at graduation. She is an active member in the Women's Law Society and volunteers as a judge for the ABA Regional Client Counseling Competition when held locally.

Melisa lives in Richfield, MN with her husband, Bryan. When not working, she enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
